Manchester united midfield player Tom Cleverley is attracting interest from a wide range of clubs both at home and abroad according to latest reports. Cleverley was once seen as the next in a generation of fine Utd central midfield players, and had a place in the England team. The last 18 months though have seen him lose form and be shipped out on loan to fellow Premier League side Aston Villa.
The former England man has enjoyed a less than stellar season with Villa, but is thought to be wanted by new boss Tim Sherwood as part of his rebuilding task next season, having been impressed by the players pedigree and application since he took charge.
Cleverley will be a free agent in the summer so presents a bargain for whoever signs him, and sources suggest that a shocking amount of clubs are willing to make him an offer, as well as the Villains.
North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal are both said to be interested in him, and he has had pre contract approaches made by up to four teams abroad. These teams are thought to be German team Schalke, and clubs in Italy and Spain.
A move abroad could see and end to any hopes Cleverley has of returning to the England set up, but the chance of country may reinvigorate him. It is also hard to see how he would get in the first team at Arsenal or Tottenham with so many talented central players. This could prove a strong case for Tim Sherwood who may offer him regular football for the man who has already made 30 appearances this season for Villa.
